No Escape

No Escape was the first game I ever made, it was a project made by a team of first grade graphic artists and programmes.
During the project I had the roll as game director, most choices for the game were made by me.
Concept

Story
The story is a rather depressing affair, it is about this prisoner girl that tries to escape the tortures environment she had been stuck in. But even after several platforming challenges, she runs into a dead end. Desperate too not return to where she came the only exit she could find... Was to escape into a world after this one...
It is a story about futility, and hopeless situations.
It is a bit much in hindsight.

Game play
It is a simple 2D platformer that was designed to be a bit slower, where the main mechanic is figuring out what jump to use. As the player has access to a high jump and a long jump.


Thoughts on the project
In the end I got to say that the project was quite good, for a first time project. I am happy with it.
There are small mistakes that I would like to fix here and there, but nothing drastic. Which to me is the sign of a good project.

The concept was simple, A 2D platformer with a light horror tone. We decided to show that tone by trying to make the game slow and deliberate in its play. Making it more into a puzzle platformer.
